Our Vision
We in Life Path Church are here to Reach
the people of Mexico City with the gospel,
Integrate them into the
Family of God, Conform
them to the image of Christ, and Equip them
to fulfill God’s plan in their lives,
so that each Family in
this city lives a Fruitful
Christian life.
We are working to realize this vision by
using the best possible means to accomplish
each part of our vision. By now we have
advanced very much in developing specific
and efficient methods and people to achieve
almost all the five areas of our vision.
1. Reach the people of Mexico City
with the gospel: We consider evangelism
as the most important reason for the Church
to still be here on earth. We emphasize
personal evangelism and as the Church we
provide the platforms for the individual
believer to do the task. We have training
programs, one-on-one studies, and cell groups
to develop the necessary skills. We also
organize a series of events throughout the
year with the direct aim of evangelism.
2.- Integrate them into the Family
of God: We believe that for God
to complete His redemptive work on the entire
person, he or she needs to be in direct
relationship with a local church, therefore
the need of integration. We have developed
a one on one follow-up method, that basically
seeks to put the basis of faith in new believers,
and integrate them into a cell group, or
an interest group. This work is done mainly
by church members and not just by the leaders
or the pastor.
3. Conform them to the Image of
Christ: We strongly believe that
God’s plan for his children does not
end in the moment of salvation, but needs
to continue until the believer becomes mature
and even on to the end of one’s life.
God uses a process to do it. We strongly
believe that the quality and quantity of
the church depends on the strength of this
process. We emphasize discipleship as a
life-changing process that gives the foundation
to further spiritual and leadership development.
We do that through a process we have developed
especially for Life Path Church called:
“Conformándome a Su Imagen”
(Conforming Myself to His Image) which is
done by trained church members in a one-on-one
format.
4.- Equip them to Fulfill God’s plan
in their lives: We believe God has a perfect
plan for each individual, and that we as
a church play a key role in that plan, and
a key role in helping the individual discover
that plan. We as a Church provide the basic
training a leader needs in order to complete
his or her God given mission. We believe
that mission starts in the local church
and ends in some way in returning to the
first point--that of reaching the lost anywhere
the Lord leads.
5.- A Fruitful Christian Life:
We believe that we are here to give glory
to God, and the best way to do that is by
bearing fruit in all aspects of life. So
when an individual prepares to walk in the
path, and then actually walks in it, God
is being glorified.
Each Family in this City:
As a church we highlight the importance
of family as the nucleus of society. Our
goal is to take each family member through
these five stages of spiritual growth, believing
that when this is done, the family as a
whole will improve in all other areas. We
are a family church. We will try to do the
necessary adaptations for the methods to
reach each family group (children, teenagers,
youth, Adults).
Our place:
Life Path Church is located in a part of
Mexico City called “Colonia Morelos”
and it’s well-known because of the
high crime and drug rates as well as the
disintegration of the family. We have a
population density of approximately 6000
people in a six block area around the church
building. The population is mostly Roman
Catholic, and medium-low to low economic
classes. Our city sector is a very difficult
one.
Our People:
Life Path Church is now under the leadership
of pastor Alejandro Sicilia and his wife
Ruth, they have two sons: Alex 4 and Pablo
2. They have focus their work to empower
the church leadership to fulfill the vision
and we now have a team of leaders of around
35. We have a vision-centered structure
divided in seven major areas of ministry.
People that have both a rural background
and a city way of life form the congregation.
